  • GERMANY 1994: UNBELIEVABLE FESTIVAL OF IMPROVISATIONS!   
  • PRETENDING TO MAKE SAFETY = PLAYING WITH HUMAN LIVES! 
  • THE SCENERY IN GERMANY AND ITALY IN 1994 WAS ALSO QUITE DECEIVING!  
  • ONE WOULD EXPECT DISCIPLINE AND VISIBLE OBJECTIVE TO HAVE ROBUST AND CORRECT PLACED REAR UNDERRIDE GUARDS IN THOSE COUNTRIES, THAT RECEIVE AN ENORMOUS NUMBER OF TRUCKS FROM THE NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES EVERY DAY.  
  • BY THE CONTRARY, AND AS IN OTHER COUNTRIES, THERE ARE ALWAYS  "SOMETHING" HANGING ON THE REAR END OF THE CARGO TRAY, TO INDICATE THAT  
A BARRIER, MAYBE, IS  NECESSARY."

As if some kind of law would require. But in all of the observed ones, it was clear that they would not be plenty useful in collisions at speeds above 20 km/h, much less in OFF CENTER  collisions, or IN ANGLE collisions which are  the majority. 
 
 

PHOTO 1: THE MAIN HORIZONTAL MEMBER, APPARENTLY VERY STRONG, IS MADE ON WOOD! THE LACK OF DIAGONAL BRACING ALSO SHOWS LACK OF KNOWLEDGE IN DESIGNING STRUCTURES, MUCH LESS , TO STAND IMPACTS. 



 
 

PHOTO 2: AN  ARTICULATION TO LIFT THE GUARD IN CASE OF BACKWARDS MANEUVERING IS AVAILABLE, BUT IT IS EVIDENT THE WEAKNESS OF THE HINGES  THE HORIZONTAL MEMBER ITSELF, AND THE LACK OF BRACING CONNECTING TO THE CHASSIS. CONCLUSION: IT WILL NOT STAND CAR COLLISIONS AT LOW SPEED, MUCH LESS IN ANGLE OR OFF CENTER COLLISIONS. 


PHOTO 3: TOTAL IRRESPONSIBILITY! FROM THE DESIGNER, FROM THE OWNER AND FROM THE TRAFFIC AUTHORITIES! WHAT DO THEY KNOW ABOUT COLLISION FORCES? 
HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT SUCH IGNORANCE IS BEING USED TO DESIGN VITAL SAFETY DEVICES? IN GERMANY? 


PHOTO 4: THIS UNDERRIDE GUARD IS AS EFFICIENT AS ONE MADE BY A BOY, USING THE "MECCANO" PIECES...  ONE CAN SEE BEFOREHAND WHAT THE TWO BLUE PROTUBERANCES WILL CAUSE TO THE CAR DRIVER HEAD AFTER A COLLISION: THEY WILL BREAK HIS SKULL IN TWO PARTS, AND WILL FILL THEM WITH GLASS PARTS FROM THE WINDSHIELD... 
QUESTIONS ARE THE USUAL: 

  • WHO RULES ABOUT TECHNICAL STANDARDS?   
  • WHO CONTROLS THE EXECUTION?   
  • WHO CHECKS THE STRENGTH?   
  • WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE REAL SITUATIONS, WITH TRUCK OWNERS AFTER THE DECAPITATION OF CAR OCCUPANTS?   
  • CAR DRIVERS AND OCCUPANTS DESERVE THE CAPITAL SENTENCE?   
  • IS THAT THE OPINION OF THE  MAGISTRATES OF THE COUNTRY?   
  • WHAT SHOULD BE THE ROLE OF JUSTICE TO DEFEND SOCIETY?
